This 4 hour tour includes a certified local guide, transportation, and tickets to the Sagrada Familia Cathedral. In Barcelona there is much to discover, but no one should miss what has made ​​this city one of the most admired in the world. Our essential Barcelona city tour is specially designed for you to know and visit the most important and attractive of Barcelona in a dynamic way… discovering and getting in touch with the most interesting and essential Barcelona through its different neighborhoods, streets, monuments, culture and people. During this tour we will visit the Example neighborhood (recognized for the fascinating architecture of its facades), we will walk through the heart of Barcelona (where we will walk through the narrow alleys of the Gothic Quarter) and visit (without queues!) one of the most important monuments built by Antonio Gaudi. We will also discover Montjuïc, site of the 1992 Summer Olympics, from where we will enjoy beautiful views of the city and the port of Barcelona.

Summary: Today you’ll go on a beautiful walking tour of Barcelona and then spend some time exploring on your own.

Antonio Gaudí is considered the most ingenious and innovative architect of his time and creator of an own and unique style in the world. This is reflected in its impressive architectural works, such as the Sagrada Familia, the Casa Batlló or El Parc Güell… and also other lesser known but equally amazing works. On this tour we will travel back in time to the 19th century. We will discover, visit and learn about the creations of Gaudí and other great Master of Modern Architecture, such as Lluís Domènech i Montaner, Josep Puig i Cadafalch or Josep Villaseca i Casanovas. We will carry out the tour accompanied by an expert guide specialized in Modernism, which in addition to talking about the movement and its protagonists, will explain us various anecdotes and curiosities that will make the tour become a short trip to the early 19th century.

This is a 2 hour walking tour. One of the most charming neighborhoods in Andalucía, The Albaicín, is considered one of the most beautiful and romantic corners of all Andalusia. Together with our expert guide, we will get to know this old Arab quarter of Granada, considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The place is surrounded by relics dating from the eleventh century and is undoubtedly one of the best viewpoints of the famous Alhambra Palace. We will enter its maze of cobbled streets and discover Moorish houses, “cármenes” with their traditional gardens, old mosques converted into churches, Muslim palaces and artisan workshops. Let yourself be seduced by the magic of Granada’s Arab past.

Day 6

Summary: Today you’ll see the beautiful Alhambra Palace and then we will move on to the next city.

Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984, the Alhambra was a courtly city where the sultans of the Nasrid Dynasty lived. We will first enter the incredible Nasrid palaces with their impressive architecture, plasterwork and decoration. In addition to the ornate palace, our expert guide will take us to the Alcazaba fortress with commanding views over Granada. We will follow strolling through the Generalife summer palace and gardens, renowned for their beautiful flora and numerous water- features. Without a doubt a place that we will always keep in our memory.

Feel the emotion and passion of the Spanish culture Seville is one of the birthplaces of flamenco music. Suburbs such as Triana and La Macarena are a melting pot of flamenco influences, and the city is full of superb venues offering live performances. We will meet our local guide in our hotel and enjoy a stroll through the city center to a renowned flamenco venue. As we walk, our guide will prepare us to dip our toe into the underworld of flamenco, its history, origins and influences before sitting down to watch a live flamenco performance. The selected venues invite different professional artists to perform each night to ensure maximum spontaneity and quality in each show. After enjoying the flamenco show, our guide will take us on a tapas tour where we will be able to rub shoulders with the locals and sample some of Seville’s top tapas in the buzzing bars of the city center.

You will be picked up at your hotel for todays tour at 10:00 AM. Love at first sight Andalusia’s capital is one of the most walkable cities in the world and many of the best wonders are concentrated in and around the centre. Built as the central office for the IberoAmerican Exposition, a world fair held in Seville in 1929, the Plaza España is a landmark example of the Renaissance Revival style in Spanish architecture.

  • 3:30 PM Tour Option A: Prado and Reina Sofia Museum

Madrid oozes art and culture on all four sides, a city that can boast of having a great quantity and variety of museums. Accompanied by a guide specialized in art, we will visit one of the most important art galleries in the world, the Prado Museum, and the museum of Spanish contemporary art par excellence, the Reina Sofia. Our first stop will be at El Prado, located in one of the most representative neoclassical buildings of Madrid and whose collection is mainly based on paintings from the sixteenth to nineteenth centuries. Walking through the buildings of El Prado we will discover Spanish masterpieces such as Las Meninas by Velazquez, as well as the creations of famous Dutch painter el Bosco. We will also see influential pieces of art of great Italian artists such as Fra Angelico or Tintoretto. Then we will head to the Reina Sofía, located in another neoclassical building of the eighteenth century and whose main objective is to show and tell about the avant-garde art of the Spanish masters of the twentieth century. Here we will meet extensive art collections of Spanish painters as important as Picasso, Dalí and Miró. (DURATION: 4 HOURS)

  • 3:30 PM Tour Option B: Monastery of San Lorenzo del Escorial

The Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, just 50 km from Madrid, is one of the most impressive and emblematic monuments of Spain, symbol of Spanish power during the sixteenth century. It was declared a World Heritage Site in 1984 and for many years was considered the eighth wonder of the world. The monastery was built by Felipe II to house the remains of his parents and to commemorate his first victory in his reign, The Battle of San Quintin. Inside we will admire the Palacio de los Austrias, royal residence during the stays of Felipe II; the Pantheon de Los Reyes e Infantes, which hosts urns with the remains of 26 kings and queens of Spain; the Salas Capitulares, paintings by Velázquez, Tiziano and Tintoretto; the Claustro de los Cuatro Evangelistas, a garden courtyard at the center of which stands a magnificent small temple; and the Basílica, where we can contemplate paintings by Ribera, El Greco, or Tiziano. To conclude the visit, we will relax strolling through the gardens surrounding the monastery, of neoclassical inspiration, amongst which stands out the Jardín de los Frailes. (DURATION: 5 HOURS)

  •  3:30 PM Tour Option C: Walking Tour of Madrid De Los Austrias

Living history in the very heart of Madrid The so-called Austria’s neighborhood, current historic center of Madrid, is the area where we can find many places and monuments from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, when the capital of Spain was the seat of the Hapsburg court. During this route we will travel through time and discover the secrets and curiosities that will bring us to feel the true essence of this amazing city. We will begin our journey in La Puerta del Sol, the heart and epicenter of Madrid, walking to the Plaza Mayor, the usual venue of all kinds of events at the time. Later we will go to the Plaza de Oriente, to get into the Royal Palace, one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. We will walk the aisles and take a walk through the gardens, which stand on the site of the old Alcázar de Madrid, a medieval fortress converted into a palace by King Felipe II. Then we will head towards the Almudena Cathedral, the main church of the Archdiocese of Madrid. Finally, we will visit the narrow streets that form the Letras district, house of the first hidden theaters in the city. (DURATION : 3 HOURS)

  • 3:30 PM Tour Option D: Santiago Bernabeu and Museum Tour

If you love football and want to know the story of one of the most important clubs in the world, you can’t miss a visit to the Santiago Bernabéu, the temple of Real Madrid. This stadium has witnessed magical nights, memorable qualifying rounds, epic comebacks, and unforgettable goals… Players like Di Stefano, Gento, Zidane or Ronaldo, real global icons, have made history here. Accompanied by an expert guide we will discover the most legendary places of the stadium: the panoramic elevators, which will give us an idea of the greatness of the club; the Trophy Room, where we will see the most important titles won by the club throughout its long history; the presidential box, the most exclusive area of the stadium; the locker rooms, where we will feel the atmosphere before a game; the press room, the benches, the pitch… Finally, we will access the great Real Madrid store where we will be able to buy a shirt or any other souvenir of the team. Madrid is probably the Spanish city with the most monumental wealth, a place where history and tradition oozes out of every corner and which quickly conquers its visitors thanks to the open and friendly character of its people. During this complete panoramic tour we will have the opportunity to discover the local culture and to visit some of the main monuments, squares, avenues, gardens and palaces of the city. We will start in the old town, walking through the streets going from Puerta del Sol, the heart of the city, to the Plaza de Oriente, where the Royal Palace is situated. We will continue along the Gran Vía, going past the Cibeles Fountain until the Puerta de Alcalá, which is situated in front of El Retiro Park, the green lung of the city. We will then go to the Paseo del Prado, known for having the highest concentration of art in the world. Finally, we will make a quick stop at the iconic Estadio Santiago Bernabéu to later go to La Casa de Campo, an outstanding park with panoramic view located in the west of the city.

Day 10

Summary: Enjoy a beautiful tour today!

You will be picked up from your hotel. During this tour we will discover one of the oldest cities of Spain, Segovia, World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. Capital of Spain in the Middle Ages, its central geographical location allowed the various kings to maintain their power in Spain. Leaving from Madrid, we will head to Segovia, located 1 hour away from the capital. Upon reaching the city the first thing we will do is admire its famous Roman aqueduct. Then we will explore one of the most important medieval settlements of Spain, from which we will visit the Gothic cathedral and the Alcázar, the most spectacular castle in the country.

Day 11

Summary: It’s your last full day before heading home. Let’s make the most of it with an amazing tour!

You will be picked up from your hotel for this tour. Toledo is one of the most beautiful cities of Spain, an amazing museum without doors, full of history, culture and art. Former capital of the Spanish empire was declared a World Heritage Site in 1986. It is also known as the City of Three Cultures, for the coexistence for centuries of the Arabic, Christian and Jewish cultures. After a 50 minute drive, we will arrive in Toledo and enjoy a nice view of the city from the outside, where its walls of Roman origin outstand. Then we will enter the old town of Toledo and start a walking tour through the medieval streets to reach the Cathedral of Santa Maria, of Gothic architecture and current archdiocese of Toledo. Later we will head to the Jewish quarter, the neighbourhood where we can still find the only two synagogues representing the Jewish population of Toledo. We will also visit the Mosque of Cristo de la Luz. We will end the tour at the Church of Santo Tomé visiting one of the most famous works by El Greco, Entierro del Conde Orgaz. Throughout the tour our guide will explain countless stories, anecdotes and curiosities of the city.

This deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. This indicates no credits, transfers, or refunds will be provided for the deposit paid. If a request for cancellation from the program is made prior to 5 weeks from the start date of the program, any amount paid will be refunded to the original method of payment for this program less the $1500 deposit. If a request for cancellation occurs within 5 weeks from the start date of program, all amounts paid are non-refundable and non-transferable. This indicates no credits, transfers, or refunds will be provided for any amount paid if cancellation takes place within 5 weeks from the program start date.
