Itinerary

Day 1

Summary: It’s going to be a late night of traveling, but soon the adventure begins!

Timeline:

• 11:00 PM Arrive at the Lima Airport (may vary depending on your flight departure).
• 11:20 PM Walk from airport to hotel.
• 11:30 PM Check-in at hotel.

Day 2

Summary: Get ready for a beautiful tour.

Timeline:

• 5:00 AM Check out of the hotel.

Be sure to grab breakfast before checking out!

• 5:30 AM Transfer from hotel to Lima Airport.
• 5:40 AM Arrive at airport for flight to Arequipa.
• 7:40 AM Flight from Lima to Arequipa.
• 8:40 AM Arrive at Arequipa Airport.
• 8:40 AM Pick up for Valle De Colca Guided Tour.

On this tour, you will get to see Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reservation. There are also stops along the way for you to observe llamas, alpacas, and birds. You will pass the highest point Patapampa (4900m) where you’ll be able to see volcanoes: Ampato, Sabancaya (active volcano), and Hualca-Hualca. After this point we go to Chivay.

• 1:00 PM Lunch at a local restaurant.
• 2:30 PM Check into the hotel and enjoy some free time.

During your free time, make sure to visit the quaint town and market of Chivay.

• 6:00 PM Dinner at the hotel.

Day 3

Summary: Enjoy some beautiful site seeing today!

Timeline:

•  6:00 AM Breakfast at the hotel.
• 7:00 AM Leave hotel for Mirador Cruz del Cóndor.

Mirador Cruz del Cóndor is a viewpoint where you will get to see one of the deepest canyons in the world at 3,200 meters. This is also the natural habitat of the Condor bird. Along the way, we will get visit the towns of Yanque, Maca, and Pinchollo.

Day 4

Summary: You’ll be going on quite the tour today, make sure to bring your camera!

Timeline:

• 8:00 AM Breakfast at the hotel.
• 9:00 AM Arequipa City Tour.

On this tour you will have the chance to visit the Carmen Alto Viewpoint to see the pre-inca terraces and also the volcanoes Chachani (6075 m), Misti (5825 m), and Pichupichu (5525 m). You will also be stopping at the traditional neighborhood, Yanahuara and the Santa Catalina Monastery. There will then be a walking tour to visit Plaza de Armas, the Church and Cloisters of the Company of Jesus ,the Cathedral of Arequipa, and the Mansion Tristan del Pozo.

• Arequipa City Tour: Carmen Alto Viewpoint
• Arequipa City Tour: Yanahuara Neighborhood
• Arequipa City Tour: Santa Catalina Monastery
• Arequipa City Tour: Walking Tour

During the walking part of the tour, you will visit Plaza de Armas, the Church and Cloisters of the Company of Jesus ,the Cathedral of Arequipa, and the Mansion Tristan del Pozo.

• 1:30 PM Free time.
• 6:00 PM Dinner at the hotel.

Day 5

Summary: You have a great day ahead of you!

• 5:00 AM Breakfast at the hotel.
• 5:30 AM Leave hotel for the airport.
• 8:10 AM Flight from Arequipa to Cusco.
• 9:15 AM Arrive at the Cusco Airport.
• 9:30 AM Pick up from the airport to start the Cusco City Tour.
• Cusco City Tour: Sacsayhuamán
• Cusco City Tour: Iglesia De Santo Domingo
• Cusco City Tour: Plaza De Armas
• Cusco City Tour: Templo del San Blas
• 12:00 PM Check into hotel.
•  12:30 PM Lunch at hotel.
• 1:30 PM Free time.

• 6:00 PM Dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 6

Summary: You will have the option to either hike to Humantay Lake or have a free day. If you choose to stay in Cusco, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. For those hiking to Humantay Lake, please review the itinerary below.

Timeline:

• 5:00 AM Breakfast at the hotel.
• 5:30 AM Transfer from the hotel to Molletapa to check in.
• 7:45 Transfer from Molletapa to Soraypampa.
• 9:00 AM Begin hike to Humantay Lake.

You will walk 20 minutes and then begin a one hour and 15 minute horseback ride to the lake. However, you will NOT have a horse to get back down, you will hike by foot.

• 10:30 AM Arrive at Humantay Lake.
• 11:30 AM Begin the hike back.
• 1:00 PM Arrive back at the car.
• 1:30 PM Transfer to Molletapa.
• 2:00 PM Arrive at Molletapa for lunch.
• 3:00 PM Transfer from Molletapa to Cusco.
• 5:00 PM Arrive at the hotel.
• 6:30 PM Dinner at the hotel.

Day 7

Summary: See the great Machu Picchu!

Timeline:

• 4:30 AM Breakfast at the hotel.
• 5:10 AM Transfer from hotel to Ollantaytambo.
• 6:40 AM Arrive at Ollantaytambo train station.
• 7:10 AM Train ride from Ollantaytambo to Aguascalientes.
• 9:15 AM Arrive at Aguascalientes.
• 9:40 AM Bus ride from Aguascalientes to Machu Picchu.
• 10:00 AM Arrive at Machu Picchu.
• 12:30 PM Leave Machu Picchu.
• 1:00 PM Lunch in Aguascalientes.
• 2:55 PM Train ride from Aguascalientes to Ollantaytambo.
• 4:31 PM Arrive in Ollantaytambo.
• 4:40 PM Transfer from Ollantaytambo to hotel.
• 6:00 PM Arrive at hotel.
• 6:30 PM Dinner at the hotel.

Day 8

Summary: Today will be one big adventure!

• 12:15 PM Arrive in Urubamba for lunch.
• 1:15 PM Transfer from Urubamba to Ollantaytambo
• 1:45 PM Arrive at Ollantaytambo to visit an archeological site.
• 4:00 PM Transfer from Ollantaytambo to hotel.
• 5:30 PM Arrive at the hotel.
•  6:00 PM Dinner at the hotel.

Day 9

Summary: Enjoy some free time before heading home!
