The seasons are not very marked; in general, each area has a stable climate, without temperature major variations, year-round. This cave contains a main chamber filled with rocks lined up which is believed to have been used for sacred Mayan rituals dating from the middle preclassic period (900-300BC) to the late classic period (700-850AD). Also, there are many chambers found high up within the cave which contain many large pottery vessels which may have been used to collect 'pure water' to be used for their rituals.

We will enjoy some site seeing for about two hours. Cahal Pech is a Maya site located near the town of San Ignacio in the Cayo District of Belize. The site was a palatial, hilltop home for an elite Maya family, and through the most major construction dates to the Classic period, evidence of continuous habitation has been dated to as far back as 1200 BCE during the Early Middle Formative period (Early Middle Preclassic), making Cahal Pech one of the oldest recognizably Maya sites in Western Belize.

Today will be a full day excursion to Tikal archeological site. Don't worry, we will handle the paper work to cross the border between Belize and Guatemala, all you have to do is enjoy the sites!

You will be able to visit here for about three hours. Tikal National Park encompasses 575 square kilometres of jungle and thousands of ruined structures. The central part of the ancient city alone contains 3,000 buildings and covers about 16 square kilometers. Tikal is also part of the one-million-hectare Maya Biosphere Reserve created in 1990 to protect the dense forests of the Peten, which started to disappear at an alarming rate due to population pressures, illegal logging and slash-and-burn agricultural practices. Archeologists estimate that the Maya settled in the area now known as Tikal in about 900 BC.

Our tour session will last 45 minutes. Ajaw Chocolate’s traditional Chocolate making tour is based on a process that dates back to 2,000 B.C. and includes learning how the bean is farmed as well as how it is prepared for chocolate making. The main focus is crushing cacao beans on a Mano and Matte. They crush the beans to a paste and then dissolve it in hot water. Honey is then added as a sweetener and chile for flavoring. A second drink is prepared with this cacao paste dissolved in water and sweetened with honey but flavored with cinnamon and spice instead of chile. At the end of this session, we will share a small sample of milk and dark chocolate from Ajaw Chocolate.

This cave can only be explored by canoe and is considered one of Belize’s most fascinating natural and cultural wonders. Barton Creek Cave tour. After entering the cave, you will travel approximately a mile along a meandering river flowing through the beautiful cathedral-like chambers and wide passages of the cavern.

Lamanai (from Lama'anayin, "submerged crocodile" in Yucatec Maya) is a Mesoamerican archaeological site and was once a major city of the Maya civilization, located in the north of Belize, in Orange Walk District. The site's name is pre-Columbian, recorded by early Spanish missionaries, and documented over a millennium earlier in Maya inscriptions as Lam'an'ain. Lamanai is renowned for its exceptionally long occupation spanning three millennia, beginning in the Early Preclassic Maya period and continuing through the Spanish and British Colonial periods, into the 20th century.[1] Unlike most Classic-period sites in the southern Maya lowlands, Lamanai was not abandoned at the end of the 10th century AD.

Hol Chan Marine Reserve is a marine reserve close to Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker, off the coast of Belize. We visit the Great Blue Hole via a scenic flight where you will enjoy a stunning and breathtaking view of this amazing marvel. The Great Blue Hole is a giant marine sinkhole off the coast of Belize. It lies near the center of Lighthouse Reef, a small atoll 70 km (43 mi) from the mainland and Belize City. The hole is circular in shape, 318 m (1,043 ft) across and 124 m (407 ft) deep.

Do not travel internationally until you are fully vaccinated. We love kids! Children under 18 years of age must have proper documentation, including a valid passport and letter of parental consent. Children traveling with one parent require a notarized letter of authority from the other parent indicating travel consent.

- Keep valuables and money in a safe place, and only carry as much money as you will need for the day.
- Be sure that your insurance plan covers emergencies outside of your country. If not, think about getting travel insurance.

What time of the year is the best to travel to Belize?
You may visit Belize any time of the year.
The rainy season runs from June to November when annual Belize rainfall is highest. Belize does have heavy rain showers throughout the year. The early months of May and June when rainfall is just getting underway, are a good time to travel to Belize as you can escape the tourist rush and hotel rates tend to be lower.
What do I have to pack for my trip to Belize?
It is important to take into account that the weather conditions vary place-to-place, determinate by elevation and time of year. When packing consider: Light, practical clothing, especially short-sleeve shirts and fast-drying cotton pants.
There is not like rigid “dressing code” to follow. Casual wearing is the most recommendable everywhere. It is suggested to take a waterproof garment as in some areas of the country it is rainy year round.
Among the main suggested items in your suitcase, we recommend including:
- Sun block and insect repellent.
- Casual clothes for trips to the city.
- Cotton or light synthetic fabric shirts, short or long
- Cotton or light synthetic fabric pants (jeans are not recommended as they do not dry quickly).
- Shorts for hiking.
- Shoes: Lightweight hiking shoes or boots, sandals, tennis or running shoes.
- Socks: take an extra pair in case your feet get wet.
- Hat with visor for the rain and sun.
- Camera (plus extra film or memory cards).
- An extra prescription for eyeglasses and medications (if applicable).
- Sweater or Jacket.

- Any medical prescription you might be taking at the time of your trip.
Is there a visa and passport required to enter Belize?
Travelers with passports from the United States, Canada and most European countries do not require a visa to enter. It is necessary to have a valid passport to enter the country with at least 6 months before the expiration date remaining.
Do I need any vaccinations before coming to Belize?
No vaccine is needed to enter the country.
During my visit, can I pay with a debit or credit?
Major international credit cards are accepted in Belize (Visa, Master Card and American Express). ATMs are also available throughout the country. National Parks do not accept credit or debit cards. We recommend cash for national parks.
How does tipping for services work?
Locally the restaurants include a 10% of service tax on their bills covering the tipping, this is the only exception. Bellboys, cab drivers, tour guides and chambermaids do not have a tip included on the service they provide. The amount of the tip is at your discretion.
Is it safe to drive a car in Belize?
You are allowed to drive using your valid home country license, for three months. It is safe to drive in Belize if you take basic measures such as driving slowly and attentively. Some streets are not in the best of the shapes, and in rural areas, you may come across obstacles like pedestrians and animals.
If I need to contact my embassy in Belize, how can I do it?
Any hotel or place of lodging will help you in this regard.
Do I have to carry my passport with me all the time?
Due to safety reasons is better to carry a copy of your hotel safety deposit box in order to keep your passport safe. If you must, bring a paper copy of your passport with you.
How does Belize’s taxi system work?
Should you need a taxi, make sure it is an authorized taxi. triangle on its doors. This indicates the registration number of the taxi. In addition, it is important that the vehicle have a taximeter or “María”, as it is known locally. Ask what the rate will be before using the service, as prices can change constantly.
How to ask for directions?
Avenues run through the city East to West and the streets from North to South. All are numbered and there usually is a sign on corner buildings. However, Costa Ricans do not use the avenue-and-street method to give directions. Instead, they use reference points, such as parks, stores, churches or bridges. Distances are measure in meters. For instance, an address might be given “from the Central Park, 500 meters (which means 5 blocks) south and 75 east”.
What are business hours?
Stores and businesses are open from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and the majority of restaurants from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. of luggage per person. This maximum baggage allowance includes carry on. You may pay for extra already checked in.
